Since 2014, Darby’s Warrior Support has been dedicated to serving post-9/11 Special Operations veterans by providing all-inclusive Arkansas hunting and fishing opportunities in an environment that comforts, encourages and fosters rehabilitation, recovery and transition. As the needs of the community grow, a new facility with greater capacity and capabilities is necessary to provide year-round quality programs and services to more of the population that fought our Nation’s longest war. Having hosted 1,000+ over the past 8 years, we are very proud to our 0.0% suicide rate.
The goal of the capital campaign is to raise $2.5 million for a 9,000 square foot multi-functional facility that will meet the current and future needs of the Special Operations community. It will be entirely funded by the generosity of patriots who recognize the sacrifice – like you!
Serve more members of the Special Operations community. The annual number goes from 150 to 400+
Capacity to bring entire teams (not just select members) in for a weekend (e.g. a Special Force Operational Detachment consists of 12 personnel)
Capacity to host “Single Soldier Retreats” or “Marriage Retreats” facilitated through unit Chaplains
Capacity to host “Senior Leader Retreats” facilitated through unit leadership
Capacity to include medical providers, counselors, or clergy
Capacity to include local business leaders and special guests
Reduce costs for labor, fuel, and electricity
As part of the Operation Nature Heals effort, we are constructing a pole barn to store our tractors and implements. First, we had to dismantle a grain bin. A contractor wanted $8,000 to do it. We rented a piece of equipment, scrapped the metal, and ended up making a $300 profit on the effort.
